The Goddess of Sagebrush Gulch

The Goddess, the prettiest and best-natured girl that ever graced that little mining town, meets the tenderfoot prospector and leaves him another worshiper of her. His chances, however, are slim for Blue-grass Pete has won her affections, he having at an opportune moment saved her from the fangs of a snake which was about to attack her. Pete's affections turn to the Goddess's sister, while Pete's friends plot to rob.

Brothers George and Robert enlist on opposite sides in the Civil War. Robert is captured as a spy for the South, but escapes and hides in his parents' house. George leads the search party, but doesn't reveal his brother's hiding place, and Robert escapes. After the war, George is a hero and Robert is down on his luck. George cautiously welcomes him back into the family home.

The Fight for Freedom

In a saloon in a Mexican border town, a group of cowboys, including a Mexican named Pedro, play poker. One man is discovered cheating, and is shot dead by Pedro, who is wounded as he attempts to escape. Pedro is followed home by the local sheriff, who proves the next victim of Pedro's quick temper and pistol. Pedro's wife, Juanita, is thrown into jail, but he manages to break her out. They head for the border, unaware that a posse is waiting for them.

The Chief's Blanket

When the Great Chief's body is placed before the funeral pile by his mourning braves, his sacred blanket is covered over it and a sentinel left to watch that this, his last resting place, is not desecrated. The tribe has just departed for their village when a mountain outlaw appears and succeeds in stealing the blanket, having given the sentinel doctored whiskey. When the Indians discover this they exile the unfaithful sentinel until he can recover the blanket.

The Ranchero's Revenge

The heartless woman with her partner answered the ranchero's call for a wife. Then the adventuress soon discovered she was not as heartless as she at first imagined. She learned to love and when the other man appeared to perpetrate the infamous design, true woman nature came into the struggle, saving both herself and the ranchero.

Thou Shalt Not

Laura has already accepted an engagement ring from Edgar when he discovers that he has tuberculosis. Persuaded by the doctor that he risks infecting his unborn children, he calls off the engagement, but Laura will not accept that: she threatens suicide. When the doctor points out a little girl who is the diseased result of such a union, Edgar recoils, and agrees to pretend to flirt with another woman to put an end to Laura’s love.
