In the Year 2014

On this certain afternoon in the year 2014, Mrs. Jones, and her daughter, stock brokers, advertise for a first-class stenographer. Charles Van Doren, a defenceless young man, striving to make a livelihood in the big city, and at the same time retain his good name, calls on Jones' daughter, and is at once accepted as the new stenographer. He has not been there long, however, when Mrs. Jones takes advantage of his innocence, and makes improper advances to him.

Lady Baffles and Detective Duck in When the Wets Went Dry

This is another comedy, in which trick photography plays a large part. It is a travesty on the temperance question, siding with the dry element. On the refusal of the Governor to sign a bill in favor of the liquor interest, the political boss tries to force the executive to his will. The Governor, after a series of thrilling experiences, thwarts the efforts of the politicians. Jake's wife fears he has made good his suicide threat after he has caught her making love to the Dude in his own home. During the last minute preparations for Jake's funeral, the mourners are suddenly surprised to find him sitting upright in their midst.
