Fanny, Alexander & Me

A documentary about the rehearsal of a theater production of Ingmar Bergman's "Fanny and Alexander" in 2012, in Stockholm, Sweden.

As children in the loving Ekdahl family, Fanny and Alexander enjoy a happy life with their parents, who run a theater company. After their father dies unexpectedly, however, the siblings end up in a joyless home when their mother, Emilie, marries a stern bishop. The bleak situation gradually grows worse as the bishop becomes more controlling, but dedicated relatives make a valiant attempt to aid Emilie, Fanny and Alexander.

11-year-old Moa loves to sing and dreams of becoming a musician like her father, pianist Anton. But what should a musician do to survive in the digital era? When Anton gets fired from TV, Moa suggests that he can write a musical. Moa herself decides, against her father's will, to register for a songwriting competition.
