In 1984, a Russian research team goes below the surface to find out what secret the world's deepest borehole is hiding. On their expedition, something unexpectedly gruesome awaits the researchers.

Varya

Varya has chosen, as they say, a not entirely female profession: she wants to become a firefighter. The girl comes for some work experience to a fire brigade where she must prove to everybody that she is worthy of being there.

The Rooster

After the death of Anya's lover she has no reason to live. Suddenly she comes across a rooster who is a spitting image of her late lover. She decides to build a proper romantic relationship with this rooster in spite of that everything and everyone are against it.

A citizen offers the investigator a bribe to close a case... about bribery. But the events unfold in an unpredictable manner.

Literary magazine editor mentally cheats on his young lover with his own wife, a university professor of Maths. He still feels the need in her fine and concise brain and their intellectually rich and direct discussions. After having a crash on the young girl he rejoins his wife. The constant irony helps them find a compromise solution to what has happened. But the real challenge is deeper, than usual crisis of the middle age and sexual dissatisfaction. The small family is broken apart together with the society.
