Khalaf, a bumpkin southern Egyptian wins a scholarship to study at the American University in Cairo where students - many from Cairo's upper class - are known for their Americanized attitudes.

Two friends, Zaki and Assem, witness a murder and pose a threat to the murderer who decides to go after them. In an attempt to avoid him, they disguise themselves as girls and join a girls band that travels to a hotel in Hurghada.
