Lorraine Pintal - So The Light Never Dies

Directed by Ariane Louis-Seize, this tribute film was created as a gift for Lorraine Pintal, director of Montreal’s Théâtre du Nouveau Monde. Featuring some of the most memorable characters and performers of Pintal’s career, the film’s succession of surreal scenes from different dramatic worlds introduces viewers to the exceptional woman of theatre, stage director, and friend whom they consider to be the “ghost light” of Quebec theatre.

A Time of Mice and Hubris

Montreal, 1888. Stephanie is a young girl with a gift for the sciences. But despite her aptitudes and intelligence, she is unable to make a place for herself in the misogynous and phallocratic world of a university. She nevertheless helps her mentor, Professor Beaumont, to develop a prototype time machine. Unfortunately, the demonstration in the university laboratories proves disastrous. King Dave

Dave is young and rebellious. A self-proclaimed King, influenced but not unconscious. As he sets out to find the stranger who danced with his girlfriend grabbing her ass, as if nothing had happened, he decides to take justice into his hands. Between violence, heartbreak and friendship betrayal, Dave will put his finger through the wringer and rush forward, unable to stop.
