Metwally and Hajj Abdel-Khaleq go to the town of Hassan, in order to retrieve Naima, harbors evil against his daughter and locks her in the house, and Hassan tries to retrieve her.

Haridy arrives at the vegetable market in search of a job opportunity, he works for Master Abu Zaid and after a while he separates and marries Hossnyia. Haridy forms an alliance against Abu Zaid, but he soon becomes more powerful and his condition turns to worse.

The Fools Alley

Khadiga lives in a poor neighborhood with her parents. She tries to save up money so she could marry her sweetheart Taha. Taha buys a lottery ticket in hope of winning a lot of money, but it ends up in Khadiga's religious father's hands who throws it away. The ticket gets picked up by the town's fool, who gets lucky and wins, driving the town into chaos.

His Excellency Kish Kish Bey

(Keshkesh Bey) loves raising Arabian horses, and so does his neighbor, and they compete in this regard. A letter comes to Keshkesh Bey, the mayor of Kafr El-Ballas, carrying an invitation to participate in a major horse competition. Keshkesh Bey is overwhelmed with joy and prepares his horses for the competition. His neighbor investigates the news and learns about the competition, so he decides to prevent his neighbor from participating.

The Road

The carefree existence of a spoiled man comes to an end when his mother is arrested. With no education or tangible skills, the man’s only salvation lies in finding his mysterious, rich father whom he has never met. Moving from Alexandria to Cairo, the man becomes embroiled in an affair, while also falling for a pure-hearted journalist who is attempting to assist him in his aimless, futile journey. Adapted from Naguib Mahfouz’s 1964 novel of the same title.
