Their long-distance relationship faces doom, when alien Dardesh invaders attack the human outpost, 1400 light years away.

A young couple, on the verge of bringing their first child into the world, are at a loss to find the joy of it when terrifying news from the doctor, as well as unspoken secrets, begin to tear the relationship apart. Meanwhile, an older couple, having received an even graver medical prognosis, look back on their lives and wonder if there's still time to tie up loose ends.
