Jasperina de Jong: The Jasperina Show

The Angel of Amsterdam

The Lord sends his archangel Raphael to earth to finish some unresolved matters. Raphael ends up in Amsterdam and gets entangled in local troubles, including womenemancipation, secularisation and the impending restructuring of the city center. The musical alludes to local, then topical issues. This musical was on the occasion of the seven hundredth anniversary of the city of Amsterdam, and loosely based on 'Gijsbrecht van Aemstel', the 17th-century history play by Joost van den Vondel.

Fien

Four-part musical about the life of Dutch actress Fien de la Mar, chronicling her earliest days on stage with her father, her glory days as a stage and movie star and the building her own theatre, up until the tragic end of her life.

Sweet Jam

Tuur, a shoemaker who fled his wedding anniversary, stays at his sister Josée, a familie outcast, and her friend Odette with whom she runs a cabaret. His wife Emma finds herself forced to look after her sick sister-in-law Gerda while runnig the shop.

Jasperina de Jong: Jasperina's Grote Ego-trip

This show is a TV adaptation of Jasperina de Jongs second theater show. The show contains songs about abortion, about revolving flowers, about a man born with inexplicable suicidal tendencies, about the objectification of women and many more.

Bygones

A film about the laborious and lengthy process of becoming old; the deterioration, dementia and eventual death of elderly parents. This is seen and experienced through the eyes of their daughter, the writer Inez Dullemen.
